B. TRAVEL DAY and NIGHT IN VENICE 7/8 & 7/9

Arrived (July 9) in Venice after 3 hr delay at ORD plane had GPS malfunction 28 hrs later here we are withOUTchecked baggage. Adam is on top of this. Still trying to figure out reimbursement because cant get a specific amt. can you spell Gucci?
FYI we have never been on a plane where in plain eng and German fed law states we could get off after 3 hrs.
All that aside beautiful, weather great, we really are having a good time dispute our lack of clothes etc. we have enough for tomorrow for tour ship attire different story.
Will keep u posted.
July 9 evening
We had a glass of wine on the hotel terrace that overlooks the Guidacci Canal. It was beautiful. We then walked towards the Rialto bridge to find a light dinner. When the sun goes down there was a slight breeze, no humidity and temp drops. Very comfortable and no bugs. There were many outdoor cases to chose from. We had pizza and a glass of wine. The table next to us were two schools from Scotland who had just graduated from "uni" and will be teaching next year. This is their summer to travel before working and getting married next year. Our intentions after dinner was to continue walking to the Rialto bridge to see the Grand Canal palaces in the evening rather than the heat of the day. however, we were just too tired and headed back to the hotel, a short walk over the Academia Bridge and along the Guidacci canal.
July 10
Our hotel room is small but is set up where we have everything we need. The sun is up, sky is clear and we are preparing for the day. Our plan is to visit San Marco, Doge and Correr Museum all in Piazzia San Marco. Then head to Rialto Bridge to sightsee. Our plans continually change since we don't have our main bags. We are flexible and not allowing our baggage mishap to stand in our way of enjoying the trip. I will say the lack of bags is a bit frustrating considering we don't know how much we will be reimbursed if we buy items to cover our needs and needs is a broad category. More on today's adventures later.

Our first night in Venice - a recap of the info no one received
There is so much beauty, canals and architecture, it is hard to take in.
After getting settled. This didn't take very long since we were conserving on changing clothes we headed out for dinner. We walked to Plaza Stefano were there were many outdoor cafes. We had pizza and house wine. Barb thinks Chicago pizza is still the best. I don't know if you can compare because Italian pizza is different, not so much sauce or meat. After dinner we decided to walk back to the hotel instead of sightsee. We were exhausted from flight delays and luggage issues, not to mention the time change.
Our thoughts were we would wake up in the a.m. refreshed and ready to go.
